Monaghan vows to bring in more ratables to combat rising property taxes. In recent years, Stony Point has lost its largest taxpayers – Gibson, Tilcon, the Lovett plant and more.

“As a longtime homeowner, I know what it is like to have to struggle to pay the ever-rising property taxes,” said Monaghan, a retired lieutenant commanding pfficer in the New York Police Department. “I want my children to be able to reside here and raise their families in the town that I care so much for. That is why I am running for supervisor.”

Monaghan says zone changes at Letchworth Village and along the Hudson River have been designed to stimulate development. “We’re looking to attract a hotel, restaurants, possibly town homes.”

Konopko says her experience is needed to help steer the town. "I have the experience, vision, knowledge and resources to help move our town forward."

Council members Karl Javenes (R) and Jim White (R) are seeking re-election. They are facing off against Democrats Dominick A. Posillipo and Mike Ehlers for two four-year terms.

The race for town justice pits Democrat K. Jody Cucolo against incumbent Republican William F. Franks.

Town Clerk Joan Skinner (D) is running unopposed for a four-year term, as is Superintendent of Highways Larry R. Brissing (R).
